LEARNERSHIPS
NQF 1
At the end of November 2010, 16 Learners will have completed their NQF1 Learnership at PMI. This course ran for 18 months and hopefully all 16 will receive their certificates showing their competency at this level.
There is a second group also undertaking the same course, but working at a slower pace as they needed to do a bridging course because they experienced difficulty in some of the competences.
In May of this year 5 new learners joined this second group and altogether there are 9 in this class.
As the months progressed the feedback from their facilitators has been most encouraging. Group 1 are a very dynamic class and their facilitators thoroughly enjoy interacting with them. Group 2 have slowly built up their confidence and progress has motivated them in achieving pleasing work. This group will not complete the NQF 1 Learnership this year.
ABET IKAHENG
There are 8 participants in this course. They are attending classes every Saturday but unfortunately they are repeating as they were not competent when they did the exam. In level 2 there are 5 learners and level 3 only 2. We had to re access this group are awaiting the results.
HIV/AIDS TRAINING IN THE WORKPLACE
Training was organised and a committee formed to present workshops on site regarding HIV/AIDS. From the training committee 4 participants took part in a 2 day course at Glen Austin and at the end of October they were accessed and all 4 were competent and have achieved outstanding results. We hope to start the first discussions on site by the 1st December for World Aids Day.
